Innovation, Design and Quality
The name Tombow has been associated with original office products since 1913. As early as 1910, Mr. Harunosake Ogawa founded Tombow which at that time specialised in the production of pencils. By 1927, the Tombow brand was firmly established and in 1929, on request of the Japanese Government, Tombow produced a pencil for Technical Drawing. Today the Tombow office products range includes products which write, “stick”, correct, highlight and sketch.
The Bizno range consists of refillable ballpoint pens and mechanical pencils. It has been produced in four lively colours as well as a black version.
At Tombow, innovation is the best tradition. Without exaggerating, one can claim that with its products Tombow has stood for a synthesis of beauty, ergonomics and technical perfection since 1913. Its range consists of original design products for writing, correcting, adhesives and highlighting.
Tombow is a traditional Japanese company. It was founded in 1913 by Harunosake Ogawa and is in the hands of the Ogawa family to this day. The headquarters of the company is still located in Tokyo. There are two subsidiaries: one in Germany, which was founded in 1979 and also serves as the European headquarters, as well as one in the USA. It is not only in Japan that the brand Tombow enjoys “cult” status; Tombow products also enjoy great popularity among consumers in many other countries.
Have you ever try to write horizontally, overhead for a period of time, in a dusty environment or on wet paper with a “normal” ballpoint pen? The gravity and the lack of pressure in the ink-lead make this virtually impossible. The Tombow technicians have successfully addressed this problem by using complex testing and have developed the “AirPress Pen”, which has worldwide-patented technology.
