The Schwan-STABILO pencil factory was born in 1855 and grew very quickly exporting innovative pencils including the copy pencil in 1875, and the thin-core coloured pencil in 1925. Due to the pencils resistance to breaking, they took the name STABILO - and the second part of the company name was born.
Schwan-STABILO started experimenting with cosmetic pencils before the First World War and after years of trying, became a global player as partner for many cosmetic companies such as Avon, Revlon and Max Factor.

In the 1970s the fourth generation of Schwanhaussers started producing felt tip writing instruments, including the STABILO BOSS highlighter. Since relocating to Heroldsberg, Germany in 1995, STABILO have focused on producing innovative and trendy writing instruments for young people and the office.
More information on STABILO's products and upcoming events will be online soon, in the meantime visit www.stabilo.co.uk for more information.
