I think it would be a good idea for British workers to have a siesta or an extended lunch break especially when the weather is really good. This would give us time to recuperate, do a spot of shopping and sit down to lunch. As it is, many of us try to squeeze many things in the space of an hour or less. Getting from one end of the High Street to another is a nightmare, full of people with prams or 6th formers, strolling about casually and blocking the gangways. I am sure you'd agree with me. As for the Banks, they too are full of people who could have used the bank at any time, whereas the lunch hours is all that us workers have got. The bank seals its doors at 5pm, when most of us finish work. So when do we get to use the bank? Towards mid afternoon, a few of my colleagues are ready to drop off to sleep. A break is much needed.
